by Jane Eales    –   my story

I was born and adopted in London, and grew up in Zimbabwe. After I left home and had moved to South Africa my request to see my birth certificate led to the revelation that I was adopted. Sworn to secrecy and forbidden to ever search for my biological family, I honoured this promise until after my adoptive parents died. Decades later, a heart-wrenching family crisis combined with a longing to know my origins eventually led to a wonderful welcome by my biological family. It was then that I learnt that my biological mother was a charming multilingual British spy sent to Arnhem just prior to the airborne invasion during WWII. My mother, a spy! Surely not. I couldn’t let this rest…  and after nine years, this book is the result. ……………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………………. ‘Secrets, Spies and Spotted Dogs’ is published by Middle Harbour Press Pty Ltd as a paperback (ISBN 978 0 9925276 0 0) and an eBook (ISBN 978 0 9925276 1 7). Click here and scroll down for more information about the book, how to buy it,  reviews, discussion notes for book clubs,  and a link to a 10 minute radio interview with Jane and Lish Fejer at ABC666Canberra on the 23rd November 2014, You will open in another tab.  It is easy to return here afterwards.
